"HowThis article is dedicated to showing you how you can set up a WordPress multisite on Cloudways. If you’ve never done it before, do not worry; the process is so easy and simple. Read below to find out how you can do that quickly.

 1. Go to Server and Install Multisite WordPress

The first thing that you need to do is to look into your Cloudways platform. On the dashboard, make sure you click on servers. You’ll be able to find SIS in the top menu bar. When you get there, you can then select your target server from the list that will be provided.

When you get here, you will need to make sure that you click on the secular grid icon that you will see. After that, you must choose Add App.

From the list that you see, make sure that you choose WordPress Multisite.

At this point, the addition of the application process will begin.

 2. WordPress Login

Here, you will need to make sure that you provide your credentials from the Access Details section that is located in the Application Management area.

 3. Network Settings

From the Tool option, make sure that you select the Network Setup option. You will then need to make sure that you deactivate your plugins.

 4. Disabling All the Plugins

When you select the Plugins option, you’ll be able to see all of the plugins that are installed and active. At this point, you must deactivate the plugins and then click the Apply button. You will notice that all your plugins will now be deactivated.

It is recommended, even by WordPress, that you deactivate all installed plugins when you’re setting up WordPress Multisite Network. However, you can go right ahead and reactivate them all as soon as the WordPress Multisite Network is up and working great. At this point, you can reactivate only the plugins that you wish to use with the Multisite Network.

 5. Creating Sub-domains

Because we want to create subdomains, we will have to go right ahead and choose subdomains.

 6. Wp-config and .htaccess Settings

Now, you must go to Tools and make sure that you select Network Setup. You will then need to make sure that you edit the .htaccess and the wp-config.php files.

 7. Adding Sub-domain

This process is done through the WordPress dashboard. When you get to your WP dashboard, you must go to my Sites, where you should click on Network Admin. A new page will open and you must select Sites and then add a new site.

The great thing is that you will be able to add as many subdomains as you require.

 8. Insert the Primary Domains

Back on the Cloudways platform, you should go to Application Management and then click on the Domain Management section. You will then be required to add the domain name, as required. If you have many subdomains, you can go right ahead and add them as well.

When you have finished, you can go right ahead and save your changes. At this point, you will need to log into your domain registrar. There, you must add A Record for all your subdomains.

 9. Checking the Site and All Sub-Domains

Finally, you can go right ahead and check your site, as well as all the subdomain, to see if they are working perfectly on Cloudways.
